A complex and alluring bouquet of jasmine, pear, ginger and honeysuckle, intertwined with a zesty hint of mandarin peel. On the palate this wine is textural, rich and full-bodied, with concentrated stone fruit and spicy pear flavours, which persist on a long and juicy palate.

In NZ, the varietal is generally called Pinot Gris rather than Pinot Grigio and encompasses a wide range of residual sugar levels and styles. Astrolabe Marlborough Pinot Gris is a nod towards some of the more aromatic, finer examples of northern Italian, higher altitude Pinot Grigio as well as referencing a little the wines of Alsace, but it's pretty much a Kiwi style - a Marlborough style. The oak integrates nicely with the fruit and the silky and linear tannin structure. A brighter and more lively style of Pinot Noir built around a core of red cherry flavours.
